Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: This is always hard to answer. Generally the longer you have had a condition, the longer treatment is required. The course of treatment depends upon the duration, severity and nature of your complaint. Acute conditions may resolve in one to two treatments, chronic or long standing conditions may require five to fifteen treatments, though you may begin seeing improvements in 3 to 5 treatments.
Q:Are the needles clean? Individually packaged, sterilized, one time use disposable needles are used. Your skin is cleaned with alcohol.
Q:Does acupuncture prevent disease? TCM treats patterns as well as your main complaint at the moment. When your body is in harmony (homeostasis) it is easier for your body to repair any damage from injury, detox properly, digest food and eliminate waste properly. The goal of acupuncture and herbs is to restore your body to harmony so that it can perform all functions effectively. So from that prespective, yes it can assist in the prevention of disease. Of couse, diet, exercise, good hygiene, taking time for relaxation and spiritual renewal are of critical importance too as these are part of the whole.
Q: Does insurance cover acupuncture:
A: Many insurance plans and flex and Health Savings plans cover acupuncture. You should check with your insurance provider to determine if they cover acupuncture treatments.
